The Verdict
Best in winter
Our benchmark for a serious ski group: genuine ski-in, ski-out, a spa worth staying in for, and a chef who earns his keep on a storm day. One for the peak weeks.
The review
A great ski chalet lives or dies on two things: the snow at the door and the team inside. Chalet Mont Blanc, just above Verbier, gets both right. It is genuinely ski-in, ski-out — a rarity at this altitude — and the south-facing terrace catches sun from late morning. Inside, six bedrooms, a spa with sauna and plunge pool, and a cinema make the inevitable storm days a pleasure rather than a problem.
In winter it comes fully staffed: a chalet host, daily cleaning, and a private chef who turns out everything from breakfast to a seven-course dinner. The wellness floor alone justifies a stay. It is costly in peak weeks, and worth it for a group that takes its skiing — and its après — seriously.
