The Verdict
Editor's Pick
Hard to better on this coast — grand yet grounded, effortlessly staffed, and as good for families as for couples. If you take one villa on the Amalfi, take this.
The review
Perched in the hills above Positano, Villa Aurelia is the kind of place that justifies the journey. Five suites open onto terraces that fall away toward the sea, and an infinity pool seems to spill straight into the Tyrrhenian. It is grand without being ostentatious — terracotta, lime plaster, and weathered stone keeping everything grounded in its setting.
What sets it apart is the service. A resident housekeeper, a chef on request, and a host who arranges your boat days and dinner reservations before you think to ask. Families will appreciate the gentle separation of the children's rooms; couples will simply never want to leave the terrace. For a standalone villa on this coast, it is very hard to better.
