A quietly romantic choice for couples and small families who want Como from the water rather than the crowds. Forgive the modest pool; the lake is at the foot of the garden.
The review
Lake Como rewards those who stay on the water, and Villa Sereno sits right on it — a restored lakeside house with its own jetty and boathouse on the quieter eastern shore. Four bedrooms, a shaded loggia for long lunches, and a garden that runs down to the water make it feel like a private world: ten minutes by boat from Bellagio, yet entirely removed from the crowds.
It comes with a cook who shops the morning market and a boatman for lake excursions, which is exactly how Como should be done. It is better suited to couples and small families than large groups, and the pool is modest by villa standards — but with the lake at the foot of the garden, you won't mind. A genuinely romantic, low-key choice.
